The Collaborative For Restoring Healing and Transforming Communities
We create pathways to healing for people across identities, including working with survivors and people causing harm, meeting people where they are while transforming cultural norms of punishment. Our work is community-specific, based on the needs of the Black, Brown, and queer & trans communities we represent.
The Collaborative furthers accountability and the right to heal.
We foster transformative community and neighborhood-based approaches to address intimate partner violence (IPV) in New York City. We seed & strengthen healing justice and restorative practices while engaging anti-violence movements and institutions locally, nationally, and globally.
WE RESPOND TO:
A dearth of resources, inclusive and affirming of survivors and people causing harm, across the spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity
Systems enacting harm —including legal, family, and community systems
We envision a world where violence and abuse are addressed through community-based practices that further individual and collective healing for us and future generations.
